Click on the image below to check out our Spring Break Schedule! Lots of extra open sessions for those out of school for spring break. We will be open April 10th for our Good Friday Easter Egg Skate with some extra fun and games including eggs hidden throughout the rink (get here early for that – we can’t control who finds the eggs first but many will be well hidden or out of reach of little ones for the adults to find!).
As always we are scheduling birthday parties, private events, and group events! Please call (440) 247-4224 for more information.
March is International Women’s Month and we would like to highlight a little bit on Roller Derby! Gaining popularity in the late 1930’s and 1940’s, derby has become an empowering sport for women all over the world, defying many obsolete stereotypes and customs that women should be “proper” and not act out of place. Roller Derby has evolved into a way for women to defy these customs in some countries where these values are still currently adhered to. Although this a mostly women driven sport, it is gaining more popularity with youth and men. Derby also allows women to create their own personas and ‘stage names’, much like that in wrestling with a dedicated fan base. Roller Derby supports a healthy active lifestyle, comradery and lasting friendships. If you are thinking about joining a roller derby team we would be happy to coach you and help develop your skating skills! Check out the Akron Roller Derby and Burning River Roller Derby for more information! Also take a peak at the move “Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey” which highlights some of Harley’s skating and derby skills in her quest of departure from the Joker.
